Don't dispose of ornaments if and when they go out of fashion, or if you get bored with them. Store them away and salvage in a few months. Spruce them up with a bit of colour here and there. Add a bow around a candle holder or twist some old Christmas gold or silver decoration around it.
Here's a handy tip: divide your ornaments into the seasons of the year. Which ones remind you of winter or summer? You get the picture. As the seasons change so do your ornaments.
Spruce them up by adding some flowers. Add small flower arrangements dotted everywhere in the house. In the photos above I used small candle glass holders, filled them with inexpensive flowers and placed them in most of the vignettes around frequently used spaces.
Give new live and more purpose to incense burners by placing a flower or two in a bit of water as shown in the picture.
Small detail, like adding a few posies of flowers here and there, lifts the energy in a room. The environment instantly becomes more vibrant and jubilant. And it adds a bit of fragrance too.
If your interior spaces are more monochrome play with colours. Pick a colour out of a piece of art, carpet or drapes. The options are limitless. For a bit more adventure kick it up a few notches by pairing colours like orange with purple or pink; red with yellow and blue.
Have fun with your spaces. Breathe new life into it.
